Lessons

At Tinahely CCÉ we offer lessons in tin-whistle, flute, fiddle, button accordion, concertina, bodhran, mandolin and banjo.

In 2009 we introduced drums and piano for the purposes of accompanying Ceili Bands. 2009 saw us teaching traditional music to adults for the first time. Our lessons take place every Friday evening in Coolfancy National School from 6-9pm, from September to May. The cost of the lessons is €7 per hour. There is no charge for learning a second or third instrument and the maximum any family pays is for two children. We have a bank of instruments which we have built up over the years and students borrow from this before investing in the instrument in which they are interested.
